The 81st anniversary of the formation of the Armed Forces of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was celebrated at the GlavUpDK Cultural Center under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
During lively discussions, the parties came to a deep understanding of the importance and timeliness of popularizing practical athletic all-around (PAM) in the Volgograd region. Mutual readiness for full assistance in this direction was expressed. Guests were told about the traditions of the country's Armed Forces, traditional martial arts and the cultural code of Myanmar as a strategic partner of the Russian Federation in Southeast Asia.
The armed forces of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, which played a key role in liberating the country from the invaders, to this day remain the most important element in the life of this distinctive and unique country in Southeast Asia. That is why the Myanmar Embassy in Russia organized a special reception dedicated to the 81st anniversary of its Armed Forces and to which representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense, diplomats and public figures were invited.
The guests were welcomed by the military, naval and air attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in the Russian Federation, Brigadier General Kyaw Soe Oo. The Russian military department was represented by the deputy head of the National Defense Management Center, Lieutenant General Oleg Iskuskov. Among the honored guests was also a member of the Supreme Council of the RSBI, President of the Russian Burmese Boxing Federation, co-author of the “Practical Athletic All-Around” system Denis Vladimirov, who presented “Practical Athletic All-Around” – an innovative system designed to develop applied competencies in young people, integrating physical training, technological thinking and modern skills. The festive ceremony also included participation of members of the Burmese Boxing Federation of Russia, students of capital universities, including representatives of Myanmar, who introduced the guests to the traditional martial arts of Myanmar (Burma), the amazing music and dance culture of the country. An exhibition of folk crafts was also organized.
Lieutenant General Iskuskov read out a congratulation from the Chief of the Russian General Staff, Army General Valery Gerasimov, to the Chief of the General Staff of the Myanmar Armed Forces. He congratulated the Armed Forces of the friendly country on the holiday and expressed hope for further development of cooperation.
Brigadier General Kyaw Soe U, in turn, recalled that the Supreme Commander of the Myanmar Armed Forces, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, sets big tasks for the army: “Today, situations continue to arise in various regions of the world that could affect peace and international stability. In this context, the Myanmar Armed Forces are actively participating in regional and global security efforts in cooperation with neighboring states and the international community. Such joint efforts not only promote mutual national interests, but also contribute to global stability, peace and a balanced international order.”
In addition, Kyaw Soe U noted that the Russian Federation is a long-standing, reliable and strategic partner of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar: “After meetings and negotiations between the leaders of our countries, Russia and Myanmar are implementing agreements on broader cooperation in various fields – not only in military-technical cooperation, but also in the fields of education, economics, energy, transport, tourism, agriculture, science, technology and sports. Mutual visits will continue with unabated momentum. We will continue to build strong relationships based on mutual benefit, equality and mutual respect, and will continue to cooperate with all states that share this position.”
